Hip Hop Overview for El Mundo

Inigo de Amescua for El Mundo

Inigo de Amescua for El Mundo

I wrote an overview about Hip Hop, with a special focus in Spain, for El Mundo’s special information series titled El Camino de la Libertad (Freedom Road). It appears on the issue dedicated to year  2007 and you can get a glimpse of it here.

Polish music. Part III.

czeslaw spiewa

Ok, the guy has an impossible name to pronounce, and I have tried it, I swear… but his music is fantastic: Bregovic, Beirut… He sings sometimes in English, sometimes in Polish great songs that you can find at his myspace. Give him a try is so fun, perfect for a summer day like… like today!

Indie Music from Poland II

OMBARROPS

The Car Is On Fire (from Warsaw) have released a new album called “Ombarrops!” with a single and video that is funny and highly danceable… and involves cosmonaut suits… I knew from some time ago because my favourite polish girl bought me their first record named after them, The Car Is On Fire. The trio took their name from the song F#A#~ by Godspeed You Back Emperor.

Indie Music from Poland I

Rotofobia
rotofobia

The first chapter about cool music from Poland that I (European westernite) am discovering during my days in the East is about Rotofobia, a band from Warsaw. Garage-kraut-psychedelic rock to the very heart of darkness.
Let’s forget about England and USA for a while.
